Summer Resident Camp

2011 Resident Camp Schedule 

 

June 13 - 17: Boating Camp 

Learn safe boating skills and earn the Ohio Boating Education Course certificate (OBEC).  You will learn to operate canoes, kayaks, sailboats, powerboats, and personal watercraft.  Grades 6-8.

June 13 - 15:  Survival Camp

Learn survival skills, go canoeing, throw a tomahawk, cook your own meal in the ultimate survival training.  Sleep out in a survival shelter that you built.  Meet new friends, have fun!  Grades 4-6.

June 15-17:  Jr. Nature Camp

Meet new friends, take care of our resident animals, go fishing, do water studies on the pontoon boat.  Swimming, tubing, archery, a cookout and homemade ice cream!  Grades 4-6. 

**Campers have the option of coming for a full week of survival and jr. nature camp.


June 19-24:  Sr. Nature Camp


Use a compass, cook over an open fire, and build a shelter to sleep in.  Canoeing, fishing, tubing, swimming and learning new outdoor skills.  Grades 7-12.

June 19-24:  Leadership Camp


Develop skills that will  help you be a leader in life.  Gain confidence in yourself and learn to encourage others to succeed.  You will make new friends, learn new skills and have fun!


                                    July 18-19:  Overnight Specialty Camps

For campers ages 12 and older.  All campers will canoe, swim, enjoy a campfire with S'mores and cook breakfast with a buddy burner.

Archaeology and Flintknapping Camp:  Get ready to "dig" and to make arrowheads with staff member Jeremy Snyder.    

Fishing Camp:  Bring your own or borrow one of our fishing rods.  Learn about fish and how to catch them.  We will clean our fish and have a fishfry on Tuesday.  

Guitar Camp:  Bring your own guitar and learn some songs to lead at a campfire.  All levels of guitar playing are welcome - we will teach each other.
