Summer Day Camp
Summer day camp is a chance to give your child the opportunity of a lifetime! Mohican Outrdoor School is offering an inexpensive, high quality, environmental education, summer day camp for students in grades 1st through 6th. Children will learn to appreciate the great outdoors and experience activities and hobbies that may last a lifetime. Six weeks of summer camp will be offered and students may attend as little as one day or all 6 weeks. The cost for summer day camp is $20.00 per day or $90.00 per week Multiple camper discounts are available. Summer Day Camp is held at the Hemlock Falls Outdoor Education Center at 5391 Bunker Hill Road, Butler, Ohio. Be sure to continue to check our website for an updated summer schedule will be posted as the year progresses. Following are som of the various themes used for summer camp weeks:
Rocks Rock Week: Physical Sciences
- Gold panning, archaeology dig, fossil hunting, arrowhead making and rock identification
Wet and Wild Week: Life Sciences
- Pond study, creek study, fishing, crawfish hunt, insects, gold panning
Survivor Week: Scientific Inquiry
- Shelter building, fire building, archery, outdoor cooking, compass challenge
Up, Up and Away Week: Science and Technology
- Kite, glider amd rocket building, daytime astronomy, raptor programs, bird watching
Safari Week: Earth and Space Sciences
- Wildlife tracking and trapping, shelter building, critter care, reptile and amphibian hunt
