Mohican Outdoor School Outreach Program
Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors can provide programs for your school or organization at your location -- a great idea for holiday celebrations, assemblies, and summer programs.
Living History Presentation -- Take a walk through time and explore Ohio during the early 1800’s. Meet characters from the past that helped shape Ohio. One or more staff members.
Storytelling -- Enjoy stories, folktales and songs – ideal for “Right to Read” week! One staff member.
Live Raptor Presentation -- Learn about birds of prey in a 60 minute session with a live Red-tail Hawk, Great Horned Owl, and/or Eastern Screech Owl. Information covered includes physical and behavioral adaptations and impacts of human activity. One staff member.
Live Reptile Presentation -- Learn about reptiles and amphibians by handling, feeding, measuring and weighing our snakes or land tortoises. Available May-October. One staff member.
Compass Challenge -- Students will learn to use a compass and estimate distance while reinforcing group cooperation skills. Content Standard Indicators include identifying and using relationships between operations to solve problems, estimation using whole numbers, and clarification of steps in a set of instructions for proper sequencing. One staff member.
