Get WILD! Project WILD provides wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources. The activities found in Project WILD instructional materials are intended for use in both classroom and non-formal settings. This workshop will help teachers and other nonformal educators and youth leaders become familiar with the WILD curriculum by participating in sample activities, peer teaching, and learning of internet and print resources that will bring WILD into the classroom and your curriculum. Activities will encompass grade levels K-12, and cover topics such as ecological knowledge, social and political knowledge, and wildlife management. All participants will receive the 2008 Project WILD and Aquatic WILD curriculum guides with new technology extensions. This workshop will be held at the Mohican Outdoor School Environmental Learning Center. The Friday session of this workshop is optional. Fees are as follows: Friday-Saturday option includes S’mores Friday, overnight lodging, and breakfast and snacks on Saturday, $30.00; Saturday only includes snacks, $10.00. All participants should pack a lunch for Saturday. Refrigeration will be available. This workshop is part of the Greater Richland Environmental Education Team Workshop Series. Graduate credit is available as part of this Workshop Series. Maximum 30 and minimum 8 participants. All Project WILD materials are provided free of charge by the ODNR – Division of Wildlife. Project WILD is funded in part by the Wildlife Diversity income tax check-off program and the Cardinal License Plate Fund. Aquatic Project WILD is funded by the Sportfish Restoration Program.
