Project Learning Tree Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood provides long-awaited outdoor and/or environmental activities for children age three to six – ideal for pre-school/early elementary, day camp, and non-formal education settings. This workshop will explore ways in which children can experience nature using all of the senses. Participants will participate and lead activities in the following areas: Get in Touch with Trees, The Shape of Things, Sounds Around, We All Need Trees, Signs of Fall, Evergreens in Winter, Bursting Buds, Adopt a Tree, To Be a Tree, Trees as Habitats, and Three Cheers for Trees. The PLT Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood module will be provided free of charge by Ohio PLT and EETAP (Environmental Education and Training Partnership, U.S. EPA). All participants will also receive, “Natural Wonders: A Guide to Early Childhood for Environmental Educators”, created by the Minnesota Early Childhood Environmental Education Consortium. This workshop is part of the Greater Richland Environmental Education Team Workshop Series. Graduate credit is available as part of this Workshop Series. The workshop will be held at the Mohican Outdoor School Environmental Learning Center. Fee: $15 per person, includes pizza, beverage and “snack activities”. Maximum 30 and minimum 8 participants.
